Unemployment unchanged at 5.8%
The Unemployment Rate remained unchanged in December 2013, ending at 5.8%, according to the Australian Bureau of Statistics. The number of employed citizens has decreased from 22,600 million to 11.630, attributed to a decrease in full time employments, dropping by 31,600 to 8.068 million. Part time employment increased by 9,000 to 3.562 million. The participation rate fell to 64.6%.
