Withdraw funds using your smartphones: Commonwealth Bank

CommBank has launched a smartphone app that will allow cardless ATM transactions starting next month. Customers can withdraw by selecting the “withdraw cardless cash” option on the ATM. Another option will allow a representative to collect on the customer’s behalf.

This new feature is secured by providing customers with an 8 – digit code and a 4 – digit PIN. Customers can use the app to determine the withdrawal amount and the account, and can designate a person from their contacts list to withdraw the amount. The app will return an 8 – digit code and will receive the 4 digit PIN from the CBA.

3000 ATMs will be equipped with the cardless feature. The CommBank app is currently used by 2.3 million customers.
